How we originated

Our association was founded in the fall of 1999. It arose from a wish of two founder members. After a holiday trip to the country both were quickly clear about it that they wanted to help those that can help themselves the least - children and young people. Of course we know - we cannot solve all the problems in the world, but maybe if everyone contributes a small piece, it will become a little more raked in this world in foreseeable time. No one has influence on his birth place and the colour of his skin - help to help us! There is a lack of many things to begin with paper and pens, also school broaching, school benches, uniforms, tutorial and much more. We all work on an honorary capacity; pending costs, as for example for office supplies and postage, the members take over privately. Only that way it is guaranteed, that the donations are distributed to 100 percent for those in need and not - as maybe other organizations handle it - up to 35 percent of the money is taken for administration costs.

In addition the special feature of our association is that we do not hand over any cash, but we buy auxiliary goods and needed things on site or in Germany. With cash the danger of an abuse is too high; the control from here is very hard. Therefore we attempt to organize at least one transport every year from Germany to Kenya. With donation money for example workshops are charged to build school benches, to pour out concrete floors or to fit in doors. So also the domestic economy profits a little bit by our engagement.

We are registered near the Hanover revenue office as a charitable organization and entitled to make out donation receipts. We are also to be found in the association register near the Hanover district court under 7572.
We begun with seven founder members meanwhile our association counts 106 members (Date: August 2009) from Germany, Austria and from Switzerland.
